$186 for a 285/65/18. Might be worth trying as a winter tire

Cool video. Its hard to believe that with all that manual labor and time, the remolded tire is cheaper than a new one.

Over an hour in the molding process ALONE! That's a 3-4 hour tire... makes you think how much the new ones are ripping us all off

TreadWright has videos too on their website but they have it down pretty good and the failure rates are the same or less than new tires.
T-rite uses computers and seems to have it down better. Check out their video............and call today for 5% off.........lol.

WTF... how does the NTSB let tire companies do worse than people basically rebuilding old tires?!? That's pitiful

Of course it is a bias statement from the recapper (kind of like the Redhead hype) but they do have VERY few failures.

No pun intended with the "bias" right?

(as in bias-ply)

I ran Treadwrights through some HARSH conditions from NH to South America and would run them again in a heartbeat.

Off topic, but I love seeing older LandRovers, your 109 there looks sweet! I had a '64 88 that never articulated like that, my little monster had some crazy hard stiff springs on it that were nearly impossible to flex.
I will have to look your outfit up on our next New England trip.

Thanks. It is an '86 110 with a 200TDI. Favorite vehicle I have ever owned. The stock suspension was immediately replaced with a full OME setup which was fantastic.

The Excursion is getting a similar build out and is making forward progress but a little slower than I had hoped for. Hopefully we can meet up some day. I know there are some New England Excursions on here. Maybe a meet-and-greet one day is in order.

To stay slightly on topic, I looked for a set of 37s for the Excursion from Treadwright but they were moving to a new larger facility and wouldn't have them ready in time. I was very disappointed. I hope to build up something else with either 33's or 35's in the spring and Treadwright will be my first stop.

Another shot of the treadwrights.
