99 ford f350 7.3l

Hey guy been awhile but in need of help now. My truck just died last night while dtiving. I popped out cps but other in. Still no go. So my friend adked me is it getting fuel. I said no she said check the fuse. So I pop dash fuse box found fuse blown. The fuel bowl heater fuse. Pop it in my wait to start came on and truck started many times. Now truck is bone cold and it just blows fuses now. What could be wrong where do I look? I looked over some wires I dont see anything. Thanks

If the fuel bowl heater is still plugged in on back of the fuel filter housing, unplug it and try it.

Ok is it a yellow plug that is behind the bowl and next to the drain valve?? By disconnecting that what will this do to my truck in new york gets cold up here.. thanks

Okay I did unplug the wire it runs now. So do I have a bad heater on fuel bowl?? Can this wait to be fixed in summer time? ? Do I need it plugged in or not really? Thanks a lot

The fuel bowl heater is easy to replace( I would want it up there to ) pull your fuel filter out, under it is a wire thats the heater. Heres a write up with pics from bdrummonds.

</td></tr></tbody></table> Lou, not hard at all. Ill walk you through it.


1. drain fuel bowl.
2. unplug fuel bowl heater from back of fuel bowl
3. remove filter
4. using a T-20 torx driver unscrew the two screws holding the plate down. it will have a little pressure against it as the stand pipe has a spring inside it, and will be pushing up.
5. unplug single connection on inside of fuel bowl.
6. do the reverse of all said above for replacement.
