Ok dummy of the day award! I didn't have anything plugged into the ipr. To my defense, I'm a diesel newb and had never had a reason to look for it. Apparently you have to reuse the wiring from the fuel bowl. Well at least from ipr to engine harness. Anyway the truck runs great, hpop holds 750 psi at idle, climbs to 1200 reving it up. Have to run to work, so a road test will be tomorrow morning.

well I've convinced myself that the stock pump was weak for a while. Truck runs like a scalded dog. Hpop spiked to 3500 psi at 45 mph and letting off. Kept at 2000-2200 psi pretty easy with a firm pedal. Sounds good to me.

also I threw a code leaving work tonight. Checked the fuel pressure, it was north of 70! Good thing I brought tools with. Brought it back to ~60. And made it home with a smile and no check engine lights.

thanks for the help guys!

Your cel wasn't from fuel pressure too high. 70 isn't too high, plus these trucks won't set a cel for fuel pressure.

If you can you may want to find out what the code is.

ut o, I restarted it and it cleared. Would an auto store be able to pull it from the memory?

No, they can't pull codes on our trucks.
