Wiring harness?

Hey all. Im redoing my 59 f100 as a frame off resto mod. Id like to do all new wiring. Was thinking about going with a kit from painless wiring. Anyone used them or what did you go with? I got rid of most of the old rat chewed wiring.

My truck will have a 445 (390 fe stroker), and autometer gauges to start. Not sure what to look for in a new wiring harness here.

Thanks

I'm a big fan of Ron Francis wiring kits. I have used a few others
but I like running the wires back to the fuse box,not out from the fuse box.
Much easier to add other functions later(power windows etc).

Hello and good morning

The corners broke off of my 87 5.0L fuse block and I would like to know how the wires are attached to the fuse block?

I have an opportunity to purchase a fuse block including the complete wiring harness but I do not want to "get over my head". A picture from the seller shows that all of the separate "looms" have plugs on the end. Is the harness a "plug and play" installation? My truck is a XLT Lariat with full power and the donor is a basic vehicle without the same options.

Thank you!

Boon

Did the ron francis kit come with every wire needed or does it require buying more stuff?

Comes with every thing plus headlight switch. They make a kit for our trucks

1957-1966 Ford Pick-Up S or L WB-Ron Francis Wiring

Or generic kits(what I used) just tell them what engine, alt etc you are using and they can build a kit for you.

I had good luck with Ezwire. I have used their kits on a few trucks including the 1960.

I also used the EZ wire kit. IT wasn't too bad but there were a few things I had to fix such as the fuel pump wire being hot all the time, gauges/idiot light is powered in acessory mode, the main wire from battery to fuse box isn't quite heavy enough.

For the money it's a good deal but just know you might have to do alittle engineering/tinkering to get it perfect.

I was looking at the Painless kit but just didn't have the money for it then.

1960 F100 Wiring

All,
I used the 20 Circuit kit from Speedway Motors. The price is very reasonable and the kit was super-easy to install - my first for a complete wiring harness.
In retrospect, I could have gone with the 12 Circuit kit and saved more money. Oh well.
I added the headlight relay kit and aftermarket gauge wiring kit also. works great.

I just finished my own kit. Fuse box out of an 01 Impala (13 circuit) + 4 relay for 20 bucks. Trailer wire and bullet connectors from Home Depot. Loom from Harbor Freight. Total cost was ~ 100 and I got exactly what I wanted.

wiring job

The directions in the Speedway Motors kit rocked. I had never wired a vehicle before- one of those things i was deathly afraid of doing really. The kit went in with no hiccups. I found no problems with it.
