Hello everyone I have been lurking around the site for a couple years now and have decided to join this great forum. There is lots of helpful information posted up here and really helped me get my project rolling. My truck is a 1953 f100 started out in very rough shape I got the truck for free from an older gentleman for helping him out around his house. I asked him one day i was over helping him out if he would sell the truck and he said you can have it. So that's how it started below are a couple pictures (if i did it right) of how i got it and where it is now.

Welcome to the Fourm. Looks like you have a great start! Just saw your spare tire carrier is on the passenger side instead of the drivers side, Cool!

Thanks all for the welcomes. Been working on the truck for about two years now plan is to keep the truck basically completely stock including 6v system. I will start a build thread sometime soon.

bjmayberry- Yeah someone made the pass side tire mount not sure if it will be going back on but they did do a pretty decent job making it.

smallello- I definitely got bit by the bug already thinking about building another should finish this one first though.......

Hey Free,
That black greasy bucket in the cab looks pretty scary - What was in that?
You've done a great job getting the cab corners back in shape! Did that nice pretty engine come with it?

Looking good over there in Ohio.

very nice progress. It took me 10 years to get to where you are. Did a PO bondo the front fenders and dimples in the parking light indents in the gravel pan?

Ben - the black stuff was a combination of racoon and mouse droppings along with oil and other things I am sure, took some time to get it clean. The truck sat out side for ten years or more with the Windows down. And thanks this is my first time doing major bodywork and welding I have restored three antique tractors this is the first truck it has been a big learning experience . And no the motor in it was a seized 239 v8 found a 54 223 six on craigslist out of a 54 Ford car with 25k original miles runs like a Swiss watch.

Das54 - yeah the po really liked bondo. The fenders gravel pan the seam from the roof to back of the cab and the seam on sides of the cowl and every other body panel all bondo. The po got the truck in 1967 never drove it was going to repaint it so sanded it all down bondoed it never got to it. Then needed room inside so put it out using a track loader bending up the bed really good.
