04 F150 phaser lockout/timing chain replacement

Looking for some advice on replacing my timing chain, I'm putting lockouts on my phasers and I want to change the timing chain/tensioners and stuff while I'm at it. I was curious if anybody used the timing kits off eBay, it's a lot cheaper and I can get a new water pump as well, I'm just hesitant over the quality, anybody used the kits?

I haven't seen this with my own eyes, but have read that you should install chain guides from a '99 year model, as they are all steel. I guess in 2000 they went to a plastic guide because they were theoretically quieter. Over time the plastics become brittle and break allowing the chain to flail around and tear things up. The steel guides are supposed to be a direct fit.
