Not if the block is cast iron, which I believe it would be. Let me clarify about the wood chisel. I don't use a hammer with it, I just hold it in my hand. And it may take a little elbow grease.

Yeah definitely don't use a hammer. By hand a chisel would work great.

Ya I've been using a paint scraper and its to dull to get under the gasket. I have heard of that gasket sealer and plan on picking some up.

Ive heard of using starter fluid to loosen the gasket up? Don't think I'll use any this go round but itd be nice to have in my bucket of options.

Why
