Advice with a transmission swap

My brother and his friend brought his 94 F-150 4x4 out here that was having transmission issues. I assisted them with pulling his transmission out and installing a transmission I pulled from a 93 F-150 4x4 that was working perfectly before it was removed.

The swap went relatively smooth, his friend isn't mechanically savvy but he helped where he could. Once everything was all hooked up and ready to go he went to fire it up, we got nothing but a click. Come to find out that everything was seized up, couldn't turn the motor by hand, nothing.

I've looked around some and found that maybe the torque converter was seated properly and it's not engaging the pump and that would cause the transmission to lock up? Anyhow I'm stumped and about ready to go out and start disconnecting everything and unbolting it again, would appreciate any advice you guys had.

Both transmissions are the E4OD. Donor truck came off a 351 and went into a 302. Don't think that would really matter but figured I should mention it. Thanks in advance.
