Parking brake slips over shoes

So, I took my truck to the shop recently to fix a leaking rear wheel seal, and they replaced all the rear brake shoes at the same time. My parking brake didn't work after that, so I took it back in. Turns out when I push the brake, the tops of the levers inside the drum slip over the shoes instead of pushing them out. The shop wants to replace the whole backing plate and everything to fix it. Has anyone had this problem? My brake was working fine before the brake job.

Don't know if this is related, but since the brake job, the truck shakes a bit at 50-60mph. The wheels are all balanced.

The shop where all this happened...is Les Schwab. The brake warranty doesn't cover this.

Thumbs up

I fixed it. took the brackets off and bent them down with a hammer so they don't slip over the shoes.
