351W Fused With GM Transmission?
Would a 351W work well with a GM Turbo 350 or Turbo 400? I'm eventually going to swap out the Chevy 350 in my 62 F100 and throwing in a 351 but I still want the torque of a GM transmission, but the only adapter plates I can find for a Ford motor to a TH350/400 is for a 5.0 302. Any help would be appreciated.

Why bother taking out the 350. With the money wasted on the adapter plate you can hotrod the Chevy to be a nice engine. Even if your 350 is bad, unless you have a mint 351 it's not worth it.
A c4 and th350 are about same strength stock, and use similar hp to drive them. Then the th400 and then c6. The aod is a temperamental trans but for something over 4000 lbs I don't like to recommend them. They use a little more hp than the th350 I think.
Unless you're going to put a 4l60 or 4l80 into your truck, don't bother mixing and matching engine/trans of different makes. Maybe if you had a built 351 and a built 700r4 I could go along with it, but th350/400 I can't.
Like was said, all 302-351 bellhousing will interchange, and flex plates interchange with correct balance.
