yeah I've had the sct for about 2 months now..it's decent.. just looking for a little more...didn't get much on this thread but did SOME research...seems like h&s is the way most have went...and been happy with.. Could've got a new Spartan.. but not looking for crazy hp.. just smooth shifting a little more hp/mpg's

I have a mini max on my truck. I guess I've had it a year or so and maybe 20K miles 15 towing my 5er, it's heavy. I can't compare it to an SCT as I've never had one. But before the mini I had an edge racing (delete capable). So here is what I think I know: The Edge worked great and was a major improvement over stock. I used it about a year and only ran on the tiny HP tune. I think it was plus 25HP or so. I got the H&S because I felt I could benefit from the tuned tranny. The ability to tune the tranny is in my opinion the best improvement I got. As luck would have it I had to have some tranny work done anyway but my tech is absolutely sure the tuners had nothing to do with it. Anyway, making the best of a bad situation I had it built for the long haul. Back to the H&S, the other big advantage of the mini is the shift on the fly. If you like to show off a bit you can do it and return to something mild at the press of a button.
What I did not expect and did not get from either tuner was a big gain in MPGs. I estimate a 10% or so gain from stock to the Edge and nothing from the Edge to the mini. I read a lot of stuff about MPGs on here but I frankly don't believe a lot of them. The bonus was the first two oil reports after I installed the Edge were perfect and a great improvement over stock. Sorry if Y'all were expecting some info on winning drag races, but I ran my last drag race a lonnnnng time ago. Hope this helps.

I have tried several tuners and I have to say personally I prefer the Spartan 210 TP LL the best for towing and the 300 LL for mileage, I don’t bother posting the mileage numbers cause I cant stand the controversies arising so ill just say they are far cry from stock!

I will say that the ability to adjust your own tuning that KEM offers http://www.kemperformance.com/Produc...p?ProductID=90 could almost be enough to cause me to stray to the darkside of H&S. Very neat feature to offer

hey thanks Stanley...you always go into detail of your past experiences...sure appreciate it.. got the h&s mini maxx on yesterday,
not ****ting you...the truck has never shifted so well.. compared to the sct I had...im running the 80hp.. I love it.. not trying to drag race either...but it is neat that you can switch in a matter of seconds...to show the blonde in the mustang next to you...smiles' and ****...cn't beat it.. Also I quit caring about mileage...when I bought the truck....AND when I lifted it 6'/37's.. Just can't believe it so far... I see why many love h&s...and as sandeman said...some Spartan guys are straying to the dark side!

Hey just glad I could help. I'm sure you paid a good bit more than I did. Once the EPA busted them the H&S tuners went way up. In fact, I have a thread on here saying I should buy every one I can find for resale in about a year. That would be right soon and I think they were around 600$ then. I could have made some money but then the EPA would probably have fined me too.

no doubt man...there outrageous now.. I got lucky I got one in really good shape for 1475... still high...but the shifting on it....compared to sct..well there is no comparison! My buddy sells tuners he did that exact thing bought up a bunch and now he's making a killing! They kind of have you right where they want you.. you need it they have it.. supply/demand at it's finest...especially when there's usually a 30k-40k investment on the line!
