Not sure haven't been able to drive her since replacing it. Hopefully tomorrow when I go to work I will be able to.

Drove her today the additive must be working for now but I will still have to either replace or rebuild the transmission.

No whining but didn't drive her all the way to town. Won't be driving her till Friday now.

No more whining at all and although she is still hesitant to go into gear she runs and drives great.

Currently looking for a C6 4x4 small block transmission that I can rebuild to put in the truck.

Found a C6 4x4 small block Transmission for $100. Needs rebuilt but will start on rebuilding it soon. Already has a drain plug installed in the pan so that knocks that out of my start list.

Plans are to rebuild it with steel clutches and gears, new seals, new torque convertor, new trans cooler, and what ever else it may need.

Well after thinking about it while at work today I decided I am going to do what I wanted and go all out and build a stage 2-4 transmission. Figured I mine as well build it where it withstands the engine once I am done with it and my driving style and environment rather then have to build it again and dred having it sit again.

Parts list for sure:
1600-1800 stall torque convertor
High performance raybestoes red clutches with koleno steel plates
Kevlar High performance band
transtech gaskets
adjustable vacuum modulator valve
aftermarket trans cooler
Shift kit (trying to decide street/strip or truck/towing)

If needed:
new pump
new neutral safety switch

Also found out I need to figure out how to weld the threaded stud on the shift linkage part or replace it since it was broken off.

I am not sure you would like the stall you have chosen. An 1800-2200 rpm stall on the street is great. It also puts the motor at a more usable rpm. How often 4 wheeling or pulling a trailer are you under 1800 rpm with a c6? With a larger cooler it will keep it cool even on a partially engaged stall. The other parts look great. Don't do what I did on my 94 and go too small on the stall. It's a turd out of the hole. Then one I get the revs to it she takes off.

I don't pull trailers at all except maybe my motorcycle trailer with my 73 Harley and that is very rare.

When I am out 4 wheeling I am turning high rpms because I haul a$$ through the mud and that is all I do for 4 wheeling other wise she stays in 2wd.

I am probably going to get the smallest cooler their is.

Only one thing:
I am almost sure I have a 67-76 C6 transmission so need to rebuild it as that.

Well few updates

turns out the original transmission I bought was a 2wd small block c6 from a 70 ford truck. Luckily only paid $100 for it so was still ahead.

Went to the junkyard and found a true 4x4 aluminum transfer case small block C6 with a broken bellhousing (no tcase cause I want to keep the 1356 but I did get the adapter) for another $100. A little much yes but finding a C6 4x4 is like finding a needle in a haystack around here for some reason.

So plan is order the TCI 4x4 performance rebuild kit for 67-72 transmissions so all that is compatible but take the tail shaft, extension housing, shifter shaft, and pump (pump in the broken bellhousing one is newer and looks great) out of the 4x4 one to make me a 4x4 C6 small block.

Been driving her to the neighbors and back every few days and she hasn't hesitated once to go into gear. May take her to work just one day to see if she does hesitate to go into gear.

On updates I did program my stereo so that everything is set the way I want it. The Bass turned up right now sounds awesome when I pop in my favorite CD by The LACS.
Has the top of the line stock BOSE stereo in mom's envoy and top of the line stereo in dad's 10 F150 beat by a long shot already. Thinking I am going to run the same stereo and set up in my 92 F150 minus going with 2 12" subs.

Drove Lightnin' the other day and today and she had no issues at all with the current transmission. Then me and my boss walk out from grabing breakfast and their is a puddle of coolant under the truck. Sure enough I somewhere got a leak in the radiator.

So bought a new radiator for her. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to install it.

New aluminum 4 core radiator is in.

Last things on the cooling system that will need replaced down the line is the upper hose (still appears to be in great shape just dirty outside) and the clutch fan (will go to electric fan later).

Got pulled over last night for no license plate light. So today being my day off I decided to get some things taken care of on the truck.

First was I took her on her first 65mph trip and she did great for a 302 with winds.
Next got full coverage on the truck. I was waiting till money got freed up a bit and finally I can.

Next replaced the front parking light bulb on the right since it had gone out.
Next cleaned the connectors, new bulb and new fuse to make sure that it doesn't go out for a while.

That was all I was able to do being I am sortin out issues with my 92 and had to run some errands.

so took her for a drive in her first good snow. She did great overall didn't put it in 4x4 until I went to back in the driveway. Had to drop her in 4 low so that the torque wasn't so much and would stop spinning.

My door sag has gotten worse so the door grabs on the fender and makes a popping noise. The door pin has so much play it is unbelievable. Being that it did that so many times now my drivers side emblems fell off and are sitting in the truck till I get the door issue fixed and can glue them back on unless I decide to go with the shaved look. I have to stand back and see how it looks haven't been able to look bosses mustang was in the way.

If I can find a good hinge with a good door pin in the backyard I may install it tomorrow depends on how crazy the day is going to be.

Oreilly auto parts it is a Murray for I believe $135. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to use the original transmission line adapters on this radiator (I don't like using steel on brass). Otherwise it keeps the engine a bit cooler and I don't have any other complaints about it.

My old radiator had the cap at a 45* angle and it was hard to pour coolant in it this one is straight up and down and it is much easier.

I ended up getting a little bit thicker Murray aluminum radiator for my 92 since it needs a good lookin over of the cooling system.
