Starting system failure?
Hey Y'all, I've got a 93 150 300 - 6 4x4 5 speed.
When turning the key to start i have no battery power. Battery was just tested at napa, and the results were battery good, When i hook up jumper cable and try to crank i get a thud from my fender mounted starter solenoid. and voltage drops to zero. I disconnected the small wire to my starter, and tried it again which give me the thud again but never turning or attempting to turn. After hooking the wire back up and having my wife turn the key while i tapped starter with a hammer it crunk right up. I then carried my lifetime warranty starter to advanced to have it replaced but when they hooked it to their machine and tested a dozen times it kept resulting ok? Any help what it may be, i checked all grounds , replaced battery terminal clamps and even tried a new solenoid…?

Cables all in good shape?
Check the fender mounted relay, take a screwdriver and use it's shaft to jump between little post (you can unplug the little wire for the test) and the large post the cable from positive side of the battery is connected to. Everything in working order, bat good cables good starter good all good tight clean connections engine should crank. Key off is fine for test.
Just clicks/clacks and no crank?
Now take the shaft of the screwdriver and jump between the two large posts on the relay, do it hard and quick as to make solid connection between those two posts and the screwdriver shaft. Engine crank? if so but does not via jumping to the little post? replace the relay.
Be sure and use a screw driver you're not overly fond of, as it might suffer slight damage in the process.
