Tailgate Finish Panel Stainless

I have an 89 F250. I broke down and had it painted last year and decided not to put my ratty old finish panel back on. I have seen a couple of trucks that have a polished (shiny) stainless steel finish panel. I know these aren't factory but is there a retailer that fabricates these for the general public or will I have to find a shop to build one for me.

They're probably just good-looking aluminum ones. If you keep 'em clean and waxed, they can look like SS.

Tailgate Finish Panel Stainless

The ones I have seen in Bowling Green KY aren't factory at all. They don't have the red or black plastic strip and they never did. I got a real good look at one in the mall parking lot and it is much thicker than the factory panel plus I am sure that it is stainless steel. It may be that a local shop is fabricating these and I just don't know about it. Thanks for the reply

Tailgate Finish Panel Stainless

I had a local co. make me up a 3"x54"x 1/4" Acrylic, cromed strip. I used 2 sided tape from 3M and use window cleaner and an old diaper to keep it shiney and scratch free. $17.00. Good luck....
