Help?

Hey guys, so I'm stuck and I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

My current truck is a 1998 F150, almost 250k in miles on it and it's getting to that "Well what do I do from here?" Point. I'm only nineteen so this is only my second truck and I'm not sure if I should put the money into rebuilding this one or just save my money, pray my beast makes it until I can afford another, and buy something else.

My truck now has a 2 inch lift and lets be real, the camo wrap job is what really makes me love the truck. I still have some minor things to fix but I know the bigger things like Tranny, water pump/timing belt, so on and so forth are in my near future.

I can't afford to out right sell this truck now, so I figured I'd start stashing cash away but do I put the cash away for something new (most likely another gas job) or do I put the money into fixing this? Then again, what happens if something in this one breaks?

Opinions and other things for me to think about would be appreciated.

Id say try and nurse your current truck along, and save as much money as you can for something newer/more reliable. Fix what needs fixing as it arises. You can get a newer f150 or super duty for decent prices these days, especially gas jobs. Also, whats the rust situation? Thats always something in the back of my mind, my trucks drivetrain will last forever but eventually the rust is gonna get it, not sure how your 98 is

Where abouts in CT are you? ive probably seen a camo wrapped truck at one point

I really don't want to get rid of this one until I absolutely have to so I think I am just going to keep taking care of it until it just can't function anymore. I have my fingers crossed that it can at least last me until summer and maybe have $1500 saved up by then and then get what I can for this one.

It IS rusty but I also think thats part of the kid that had it before me, not taking care of it but I can't confirm that. There's rust near my doors/rocker panel and then under it but the underneath isn't really bad, I could always post pictures?

I live in Seymour but I'm all over the state. Monroe/Oxford/Tolland/Hartford/New Haven/Hamden/Cheshire/Middletown/Meriden. I have family all over the place lol. It's a multi cam wrap, not something like realtree or Mossy oak

Wow yeah you are all over lol. I feel like I've seen that truck on face book before, while ago so it might have been the previous owner

Canned Ham - The truck is now known as "The Hulk" Lol. My moms boyfriend originally bought it off craigslist and then I got it from him because he borrowed my last truck and literally killed it so we pretty much swapped trucks. It may have very well come from Guilford but I can't be for sure.

Feel free to message me and give him my email - if it was his I'd love to know if he has any maintenance records on it. I know the person that had it before was about my age. It has a high school parking sticker on it but not sure which town.

Its definitely his old truck, theres not very many teenage kids driving f150s with camo truck wraps. If the parking sticker says GHS or guilford high school then its definitely his. Ill have to get his email for you.

He said when he had it all he did was regular maintenance, he said the only things he can really remember replacing were the alternator and the starter but there was probably a few other things. Hope that helps

He may have taken it once or twice, but back when he owned it I can remember that almost every time we went wheeling he rode in my old truck, because i had the the most set up truck for off roading at the time. The truck was originally his fathers if i remember correctly, he only drove it for about a year and a half.
