How good is the corrosion protection?
In my search for an Explorer, I've run across a number that have spent a considerable amount of time (10 years or so) in the rust belt when I run the VIN in Autocheck. I've written them off without even bothering to take a look at them, but I'm beginning to question this practice. Compared to a car, I would assume that Explorers would get more use during the winters when the 4 wheel drive is needed.
I realize a lot of variables come into play, but, in general, how well are your Explorers holding up after spending a lot of time where the roads are salted?
Thanks in advance.
