Well, it is that time of year again. Time for the annual SoCal off road GTG.
The first year we went to Gormon OHV
Last year we headed out to the San Gabriel Valley OHV area.
I'm sensing a theme here.
Time to start shooting ideas around.
I would like to get more people involved. Thats why I propose we dont do any crazy off roading, maybe just some trail hunting. No scratchies. Just some off pavement pounding with a destination that everyone can enjoy. Camping? Sight seeing?
What say you guys?

It would be pretty far for you and Sean and some others. But you might take a look at running Cleghorn road. From what I've read it has a little of everything, including a main route that even 4x2 can make, and alternate routes that are as challenging as you want to make them.

Cledge Horn looks good. "Suitable for medium height 2wd vehicles." There is a campground and a recreation area at the lake.
Although I did notice this tid-bit at the bottom.
I am okay with it, but I would like to see more than the small few come out this year. How do the non 4x4 people feel? It sounds like all the the technical areas have bypasses, and the trail is rated as "easy with technical options" and most of the trail is hard pack it says.
There is a separate 4WD trail (marked as X2W47) that runs parallel to the main route and is smaller. This one intersects the main trail often and has a rating of "difficult". The good news is that drivers are able to view the route beforehand and can choose the sections they want to leave out. The start of the trail has an easy rating which gets tougher as you move towards the top of the Cleghorn Ridge.
It is advisable to use a smaller vehicle as the less difficult areas too require good wheel articulation and placement between boulders and obstacles.
