Nasty grinding noise when turning left loosing my mind
Hello Guys/Gals
i have a 1980 ford f100 351w 4x4. just got the truck back on the road and noticed a grinding noise coming from the front driver side area. while driving down the road if the suspension compresses/flexes or when turning left i get a grinding noise from the front left side. the noise sounds almost like the drive shaft is hitting the exhaust, but its not. thought it was the wheel bearings but the noise is present even when sitting still and the wheel turned all the way to the left just before hitting the stop. no noise when turning right at all. put new power steering pump in thinking that was the problem with fresh fluid (type F) but i was wrong, problem/grinding is still pressent. was thinking gear box but not 100% sure. any help greatly appreciated

Well pulled belt off and drove truck noise is still there. Spun both wheels driver side only did about 2 revolutions then stopped passenger side would spin about 8-10 times wondering if bearings, but id it was bearings I wouldn't be able to hear the noise while sitting still.
