Well guys I bought some springs from Bronco graveyard and the springs I purchased were the 4 to 4.5 in lift ones. I wanted to make the truck level but didn't think the leveling springs would be enough. Long story short I cut 1 loop off the new coils and I'm very happy with the stance. What do you guys think?
This is before (below)
It did have some rust issues on the cab so I swapped the cab and now is rust free. As you can see the entire cab is flat black with Eastwood rust prevention paint.
MisterCMK I kinda like the wanna be "prerunner" look. At first I was unsure but everyone seems to love it so I'm going to keep it like this. It might sit 1 inch higher in the front.
Hows the ride with the springs cut?
I have a short bed also.
I bought a set of 4 inch lift springs from JBG also and didn't like the ride height like you.
I was afraid to cut in case it stiffened up the ride to much.
Ended up going back to my F 150 springs with dual shocks.
Perfect.
Then put the springs up for sale in the classified section.
BTW
If you like it, that's all that matters.
To me the ride isn't bad. The truck was bumpy before and bumpy now. Nothing like a new truck. If your local you can come drive mine and see what you think. I cut 1 coil off my springs. I cut just below where the spring came to an end so it still ends in the same position as before but just 1 coil missing. I did it like this so it sits in the truck like it should.
I don't commute in my truck, it's basically for weekends and taking camping and shooting so the ride is no big deal to me. I don't know about you but my truck has a bench seat that has some serious padding. I really feel like I'm in an 18 wheeler with an air seat. Love it.
Yeah, I use mine for commuting and long trips.
My brother just went with me to Montana and told me he thinks my truck is more comfortable than his King Ranch.
Go figure.
Anyway, nice truck
They're Maddog fenderwells.
IIRC they are about $450ish unfinished.
I went with fenderwells as not to get in the way between the rails.
I am going to have to move my steering a bit. I think I can get away with shortening the shaft.
Will be at it in December when I put my new engine in.
