Beds compatible with my truck?

I have a 79 long bed reg cab and need a bed….. so what is the year range and truck range of compatible beds? f100,f150,f250,f350? Searching everything on craigslist for something better than mine.

Thanks!

Basically with a 79, as long as you don't get the bed off a 73-77 highboy, any long box should bolt right up. Highboys use a narrower rear frame and a highboy-only bed to go with it, most don't even have fuel doors because of the in cab tank. Everything else with a long bed should bolt right up! Happy hunting!
HOWEVER, BE WARNED!!!

(Continued from last post because the moron at the keyboard hit the wrong button...) There are camper special trucks, as well as trailer special truck I believe, that have a longer wheelbase with a standard length long bed. As a result, the rear axle sits farther back, by about 7", and these beds are NOT compatible with a regular long bed truck. Most trucks, however, should work, keeping the aforementioned exceptions in mind!

To simplify my previous posts: ANY 73-79, F100 thru F350, long bed, EXCEPT 73-77 F250 4x4 (Highboy) and 73-79 Camper/trailer special (mostly 250s or 350s I believe). 4x4 250's became "lowboys" mid-year 77.
BTW what model is YOUR truck (100, 150, etc...)

Restoration? or just a bed? I put a 91 bed on my 79 F150 SC. Guy I knew with a 73 F100 4x4 put a 2000 bed on his truck.
