Bargain trucks here in Oregon
Okay, here's what kind of good buys you can find here on CL if you watch the ads........it also illustrates how much writing a good ad improves your selling price....both these trucks had ads that really werent well written, and didnt properly describe the trucks.......But $3000 total has gotten my two highboys, both converted to integral power steering, the white 76 has a 4bbl 390, a/t and a massive PTO winch with roughly 300 ft of 3/8" cable, good interior and body. the Bluish green 77 has a 460,a/t, came with a bumper that ive already got a warn 8274 for, 33" tires on alloy wheels, bucket seats w/center console.......

Just another reason i moved to Oregon Dave, ive got nice neighbors, most of whom own old vehicles. And we follow the standard of live and let live, rather than meddle in each others business! Sadly, the only thing that was messed up on the 76 is the hood....Its previous owner used it as a truck to hunt with dogs, he had carpeting glued and riveted to the hood so the dogs had a place to sit while they cruised the old forest roads......Yeah, he ripped it off, but the hood still bears the scars...
Of course, that may be why i got it so cheap!

I drove the 76 yesterday, about 18 miles roundtrip to the dump.......Got a nice example of the Oregon philosophy on prices. I have 2 foot high 2x4 and plywood stakes on the truck, and i had a pretty decent load of demo debris. I pull up to the dump, and the guy tells me "Looks like about 2 yards material, and its $2 a yard" Thank God i was seated, had i been standing i'd have likely fallen down..........$4, at the dumps id used in the SF Bay Area, they probably would have charged at least $40 or $50 for this amount of debris.........Gotta replace some tires on this truck, then its good to go
