If you have a Y-pipe already I would keep it.
It isn't hard to replace the EFI exhaust manifold gaskets. (not like the carbed ones!)

How much are you willing/able to spend on this?
Let me see what is available in the PDF catalog.
well i have dual and its pretty darnd quiet so meh, was worth a suggestion

Jaime.
I didn't mean to say duals cannot be quiet.

He said he wanted it to cost the least as possible.
2X everything is going to make it cost more, and won't substantially reduce the sound over a well engineered single system.

Do you have a clip of what yours sounds like?

Can't say I can reccomend this particular line of mufflers for sound deadening.

I am by no means biased to one brand or another.
Still have your receipt?

It MAY be a warranty item.

Often times over time the CRF will settle and the tone will change over time....

Ouch!

My hangers may be a little overkill, but I hope I never have to deal with that.

A new flange is cheap.

I can rock single or dual, or....A single system and use my Y pipe to use both my tips.

Many years ago I put a pair of turbo mufflers on my headers on a '68 C***y to get past a fix-it ticket I got from the highway patrol for running open headers. (One of my mufflers fell off, and I heard it. I stopped and recovered it and, because it was hot and because there was a big bull next to the trail that was very interested in what I was doing, I didn't take the time to slide it back in. I didn't hear the second one fall off, and my cobbled-up attempt to fix it didn't last past the first time I put the pedal to the metal.) I just matched the collector diameter to that of the muffler inlet. It sounded pretty good, was not at all obnoxious, and was enough to satisfy the court regarding that fix-it ticket.

The Walker 17878 'log' seems to be about $35 delivered.
Combine that with a cheap mandrel bent pipe and 2-3 hangers.
(The 'crinkle' bent pipes are useless IMO)
It can't end up costing more than $100 including cutoff discs.

I have the stock system on my truck except for the removed cat. Can't tell if its running from outside or inside except for the tach.

At an idle anyway.

Quietflow SS muffler (don't cheap out or it'll sound like crap, trust me), and a resonator of some sort along with a stock exit tail pipe.

no i don't but I could try to recorde one if needed, as for in cab noise theres some but I think thats because I need to finish resolving the EGR issues but due to the cold i haven't wanted to do much more on the truck...same goes for the cars LOL!!!
