My dad has a 2004 f-150 extended cab 4x4 that he bought used several years ago. It has the keypad on the door locks. He never really worried about it before, but someone told him that the unlock code was printed on some module in the truck. Is this true? If so, does anyone know where to find it? Thanks.
And the money goes Canstacker!!! Should be a sticky, as this is a pretty hard item to find if your not familiar with the trucks. I had to help my buddy unbolt his 09 f150 to get his code that he forgot out.
Likely why so many views before a reply ...... it ain't so easy to just "figure out" ..... LOL
I take a sharpie to my vehicles with keyless entry (5 of the 7 4wheelers now, though a couple could be sold) and write the number somewhere not so commonly visible as a back up plan to the keyless entry (which is itself, a backup plan) ..... as I also always leave home with two sets of keys minimum for whatever car / truck / MC I might travel in / on.
Ok, I am not so smart. My Dad's truck is a standard cab. No back seat, but does have the little doors that open. Anyway, is this lock controller still going to be on the back wall of the cab?
I don't know the answer to your question but when I bought my 04 super cab I went through the trouble of removing the back seat to find out later the original owner wrote it down in the owners manual. If he has it give it a try. Hope that helps....
I was browsing this a few weeks ago on this site and found a chart of all combinations(since each button has two numbers). The poster said only took about 25 minutes to find correct combination. Hope this works. Maybe be quicker than removing seat to find module. Good Luck
