73' Ford F100 Ranger - 360 Big Block Conversion Motor Mounts to install 454?
I know I know....
So I've been looking near and far online for mounting a 454 into a 73' Ford F100 and have yet to find it...
Basically what I am looking for are some motor mounts that bolt right into place for the engine and Ford.
If you know where I could find one please post a link.
The Ford has a 360 Big Block
(Keep in mind that I am new to the "Car Talk") So any tips or tricks would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Well, im gonna guess no one makes these commercially, most Ford fans are ford fans, just as most Chevy fans like Chevy's......There are enough 70's era Ford trucks, and Ford engines for there not to be a need for this item commercially.............You see the Chevy and Ford engines commonly transplanted into less common, and older vehicles from the 20's to 40's, Jeeps, International's, stuff like that........I suspect you will need to either fab them yourself, or pay a shop to custom make these. Id start off by measuring the dimensions of a 454, compared to a 360......Both are considered big blocks, BTW

Welcome to FTE, lots of good people here.
Not to rain on your parade but I have to agree with the other guys, I don't know of any off the shelf conversion mounts.
Do you have the 454 already? If not, and you already have the truck, then consider a 460 swap. Its a bolt in with factory parts if its 2WD and conversion mounts are readily available if its 4WD.
If you're doing it because you like the body style and also like the engine I think you're going to be on your own.
If you have a basic knowledge of fabrication and welding, it shouldn't be too difficult. There's more than enough room for the BBC.

Autofab makes mouse mounts: 65-79 Ford Truck 2WD
No rat mounts that I know of are available off the shelf. Start fabricating or get some custom mounts made. Ambition and enthusiasm are a good thing but since you're relatively new to wrenching, I think you're WAAAAAY over your head with this idea already.

iggybob44: Yea I figured I might have to fab them myself...
Turbohunter: "Bowtie Thingy"?
mikeo0o0o0: Glad to hear it! I figured that there would be many complaints about what I want to do! That's quite a disappointment but if anything I will fab them. I don't yet have the 454 but will be getting it for free! (out of a 82' Motorhome) Yes I have the truck, its a 73' Ford F100 Ranger XLT with a 8ft bed 2WD.(will post pictures later) Actually I have considered it the 460 transfer instead of the 454 but do you know what the price might be for one? are 460s good? I haven't hear much of the engine. (Horsepower and Torque) I was doing the 454 transfer cause it was free but I could sell it huh? and buy a 460... I'll do more research on it! Yes! I do like both! Well not completely alone I have my dad and friends who know way more than me.
HIO Silver: Yea I saw those and decided to email him and ask about the conversion mounts(still no reply). Well not completely new to wrenching but new to something this big. Oh I know I am hahaha I am definitely over my head hahah!
Thank You all for answering me and helping me out!
I'll keep you all updated on the adventure hahah!

Plus there's a lot of info right here on this site. Just so you know, the 429-460 engines are part of the "385" engine family.

Frankly, it sounds like a really dumb idea! A smog 460 bolts in with the right factory pieces, and will have at least as much power as a smog 454 Chevy. Cinsering all the work, including somehow trying to make the Chevy rear sump pan fit the Ford, not to mention bellhousing/trans issues, rad hoses on the opposite sides compared to a Ford, PS brackets, making thae large HEI dist clear the firewall, it just sounds like WAAAAAY more trouble than its worth. Even if the 454 is free, it would be better to sell the Chev and buy a 460. It should be a lot easier to find a 460 Ford compared to 454 Chevys. Besides, how solid is a 30+ year old 454 anyhow?

By the time your done, that "free" 454 will cost you a fortune due to all the crap that needs changing/adapters, etc.....Oh, and im assuming your getting the GM Turbo 400 a/t with it, or it may have an even heavier tranny( i recall GM made an even beefier Turbo series tranny for heavier stuff) how about the column mounted tranny linkage.......By the time its all said and done, you could much easier and cheaper just sell the entire 454 Chevy assembly to a Chevy guy who wants to replace his SBC with a big block. Often times 454's sell for more money than 460's, only because more Chevy trucks and cars were built with SB's from 307-400 CID from early 70's through the 80's, while Ford built tons of primarily 460 powered trucks beginning in the 70's. by the mid 1980's, most of F250 and F350 trucks i see here on the west coast have 460's or 6.9/7.3 Diesels, while more Chevs had 350's than anything else.....
