Tps?

97 f250 460
It all worked fine until, I replaced my bbk throttle body tonight (with a new exact same one) and now it shifts bizarre, 3rd seems like 2nd and visa versa, idle all over the place
I didn't unhook the battery when I unplugged the tps and it really only can go in one way. Bbk has a long set up for the tps installation but it worked fine with the 1st bbk TB the way I installed it. The only reason I replaced it is because the linkage springs were messed up and it was still under warranty
I'm thinking the tps is about all it can be? Any thoughts ?

Stop guessing, measure the output with a meter.

Thank you
Didn't want to bore the tps screw holes out as mine is nonadjustable
Seems like bbk had the TB set up like my factory one - just a little load on the tps spring

There should be no reason to bore out the holes. If the output is wrong verify the throttle blades are closing properly then replace the tps if required. As long as the closed voltage is between 0.6 to 1.0 VDC your good, there is no reason to set it to a specific value in that range. Also verify the output is linear to ~4.75 at full throttle.

I'll do that. It just bugs me that it all went south after only putting on a new TB

This has been the upgrade year for her - new trans at ford dealership, banks headers and exhaust, 4"skyjack lift, nitto grapplers, all tune components and more

Hope we getter figured out, I use the truck for a lot of personal stuff - fishing (pulling boat to river) and hunting mostly

Cannot figure it out
Tried back probing = nothing
Tried testing the unplugged harness = nothing

Think I figured it out
1st my back probing skills are bad

Checking ohms on tps found it doesn't work when hooked up to the bbk TB
By the time you screw the tps on to the bbk TB it's cocked a little and binds up

Might be able to make a thin gasket to hold it off the TB a little?
Or just go back to the oem TB?

If the old throttlebody was working properly then stick it back on. You are gaining nothing with that BBK TB if the truck is stock.

Am I loosing any thing with the bbk?
Stock motor with headers exhaust and intake

I was reading about the need to file down the shaft that turns the tps,the little flat shaft is just a hair larger. I would really like to find out if there is any gains or losses with this TB?

The throttlebody is not the bottleneck on your engine. IMHO all that TB did was lightening your wallet.
