Please provided a link to what your saying. Considering a 5.0L EB doesn't exist I think you'll have a hard time providing any such information.

There is little doubt in my mind a properly sized EB would exceed the fuel economy of a 6.2L NA. To me the 3.5L V6 does not have the non-turbo displacement to be efficient (larger frontal area not so much about weight) in the Super Duty but I would think a 5.0L V8 would.

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the 6.2L engine. However, I think a 5.0L EB would be more fuel efficent while having more HP/TQ. It would also be more expensive so that is why the 6.2L would need to remain in the lineup. 6.2L, 5.0L EB and the 6.7L diesel would offer a great engine lineup and, as others have said, a game changer in this segment.

This may change my plan for the time being then. Its nice to see that they are bringing back the real F450. Since my truck isn't worth much anymore I may just keep it 2 more years and order a F450.

The only issue I have with the current SD is that flow through console. I would love to have leather buckets and a manual 4x4. It would be nice if they offered a seating configuration like the 08-10 trucks had...who needs 4 cup holders in the front?

I also like the 6.0 like singe turbo again. Man Ive got some thinking to do as Ive tracked down a 12 KR Dually.

No thanks. I prefer my old leaf sprung solid front axle. I am an odd person,i guess, but i really don't like the floaty feeling i get from the newer trucks.

 

personally i hate never having enough cup holders. if you recall most 99-07 SD's had 4 cup holders also. two either in the flip down or in the console...then two more in the dash pull out. my line of thinking is you can never have enough cup holders.

the seats you get with the center seat VS the console are exactly the same as the one with the full console so in your case just get the fold down seat? problem fixed.

 

Anyone who lives out of their truck. That configuration is great. You can still get your bench seat if you really think it's better.

 

I do live out of my truck most of the summer and never had a need for 4 cup holders, guess that's just me.

I don't want, nor do I like a bench seat. I love my buckets just don't like the flow through console. Reason being is you cant get a manual 4x4 with it, and I have no place top mount my Jotto desk console which has my CB, HAM, and Scanner.

Me too on the solid axle/leaf spring front end! Feels much, much more stable in high crosswinds with a lightweight, high profile travel trailer.

I towed the same trailer, about 6,500 lb., 32' bumper pull, with the same sway control hitch (a Reese Straight-Line, set up for the trailer) with my '01 and a new '11, the same afternoon on the same highway (test driving the 2011) in the same 35-45mph quartering crosswind. The drive was about 16 miles each direction.

The '11 was set up as close to my '01 as was possible.

There is a definite difference in the way the two trucks felt under those conditions. The '11 handled the trailer just fine, I am NOT knocking it. The anti-sway control never activated either. I don't think there was any problem with the truck. But, I was surprised how much more lateral movement there was in the front end each time I encountered a wind gust.
