'74 Ford 800 wiring issue.. help?

Hello All, This '74 gas-powered 10 wheeler produced a brief puff of smoke from under the dash last week. I have subsequently lost turn signals and one side of the 4-ways in the rear only. I have also lost my brake lights and must assume that there is a connection between the two issues. We have traced the wiring from the taillights forward along the frame rail, ultimately into the cab finding nothing suspect. Thinking that the flasher unit may be somewhat of a 'weak link' we decided to look at and likely replace it.... but we CAN'T FIND IT. can anyone tell me where the signal flasher is for this old girl? We sure appreciate any help out there. thanks. ...and if anyone has a wiring diagram from this truck in this era I would buy it....
