1979 f250 custom 4x4 dana 60 rear swap dana 70 70

I have a have a Dana 60 in my f250 I want to swap it with a draw Dana 70 rear axle from a 1980 s ford cube van I noticed the spring perches and shocks were mounted 2 inches wider than my Dana 60 will this work?

Maybe if you cut the mounts off and move them but not sure about the axles overall width.

Well, measure the overall drum to drum width..........then decide whether you want to remove old spring perches and move them to accommodate the different width of your springs. Then if it will work how about rear axle ratio compared to the Dana 44 front axle youve already got( or Dana 60 front if your lucky)

I'm lucky I guess there's a 60 up front. I just found out I can use a 14 bolt for plan B but I really don't want Chevy parts on it.

It is maybe an hour job for a welder to move spring perches with the rear end out of the truck.
Be sure to take pinion angle into account when locating them.

One way to tell is to count the revolutions of the d-shaft yoke versus the revolutions of the hub/tire.
