If Ford did a retro design on the F-150...

What would you like to see? And would you be interested in having one sit in your driveway.

For me personally I would probably s*it a brick if Ford made the F-150 to resemble the 1973 - 1979 trucks, and as much as I love my 2011, I would probably be at the dealer ship haggling for a retro.

What about you guys? What would you prefer to see?

1980-1986 trucks were the ones that made my knees wobble, I had two of them.

Unfortunately, the real bumpers, real chrome and the slightly heavier sheet steel would be replaced with what we have now.

In fact, I mentioned to my wife the other day that if an '80-'86 truck comes across my path, I'm buying it and trading my 2011 in for a small DD such as a Focus. I don't even care if it's a 4x4.

I always loved the old step sides.

This is the style that holds a soft spot in my heart:

The bumps are the only old design I like after '56. Personally can't stand the dents through the '91MY '92-'96 weren't terrible and a clean one still looks pretty good. I don't think a retro truck style will play well like they do with the Mustang. I think the current style is the best looking.

I know we are all Ford guys & gals here but for me I've got to look at the '70 - '72 GMC/ Chevy C10/C20. That design is to this day one of the most timeless designs ever conceived where a cab and a pickup box meet for me.

Would love a new one of those with modern safety and drivetrains. 4x4, reg cab, long bed, GM 6.2 or Duramax.
My favorite Ford body style though was '92-'96. Personally I think the entire "retro" design thing is dead in the water in today's day & age.

The new Mustang is moving away from that theme, there won't be a next Challenger etc.... I think a retro truck would be the bees knees, but with increasing fuel milage standards abound there is no financial motivation for a manufacture to spend the money or research and development at this point.

Those were some good looking trucks to.

I think 1980 - 1996 F-150's probably hold second place for me as far as outside appearances.

My grandfather had several of these trucks throughout my childhood. I think he had two 1984's and a 1993...All three of which proved their worth 10x over, because he was a man who USED his truck...And used them hard, but those old Fords always held up good and tackled everything he threw at em.

I'm all for the 80-86 ones. Best looking Ford trucks ever in my opinions.

I have always liked the 80-86 and the 92-96 trucks.

They kinda did a headlight design like the 80-86 around '09 with the F250 except the turn signal was on top instead of bottom.

Any past body style except the '97-03's. However the '73-79's are my favorite. And with that said I think if done right the fat fender '50's style would be sweet as h***.

I personally think that the '05-07 superduties in xl trim look the most like the '80-86 headlight style.

Well since so many like the 80's era Bull nose trucks, I thought I should show off my beauty! 1980 F250 4x4 converted from a 2x4. Camper Special. Built 351M with lots of other goodies. Original paint.

Those might be what I was thinking of. Not good on the years.

Nice green truck too really love how clean it is. I miss mine being that way.

Hit the nail on the head right there for me. I personally like the 80's to Early 90's body style the best.

But a '53 F100 would work for me as well!

That's it! That 1980! Just love that look. Also, '66 or so. Hey, I go way back.

I don't think many whips (snappers, that is) would go much for retro. Actually, for me, real retro has to get on back to at least '60s and further back. Our vegetable man had a '53 he sold vegetables from when I was a kid. Now we're talking!
