Replace Oil Pump???

Hello all, I'm in the process of changing a leaking oil pan gasket.
After much wailing and knashing of teeth I finally got it out.
Now that I have the oil pump and pickup out, I'm wondering if I should replace the oil pump.

The truck is a '95 F250 regualar cab 2WD with a little over 200K miles.
However the engine still runs strong (351W 0 - 60 in about 9 seconds which ain't bad
for an 8500 lb white brick)

I know from past experience with 302's the oil pumps tend to give out around the same milage.

Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Guy

Change pump while you have pan off and old pump and pickup out. Buy new oil pump hex shaft...when you get new shaft, check the locking clip distance on new one and IF its closer to the top than the old one BE sure to set it same distance as old one cuz if you dont, the dizzy will stick up a 1/4 inch higher and really pi** you off!!! Only need to install standard volume oil pump.

Agreed with timbersteel, don't fall for the "race" or a "high flow" pump, stick with a factory pump.

I'd change the timing chain if I had the oil pan off.

Replace Oil Pump

Thank you all for your comments
and to nflfreak43 It does do 0 - 60 in about 9 seconds, I timed it about 3 months ago just out of curiosity. via my GPS and the digital stop watch function in my wristwatch.
I'll orderup one.

Get a Melling oil pump that just replaces the stock one, nothing fancy, and you'll be quite happy with it.
