AFAIK, the hoods are all the same exact part on all F series, 1-8. The fenders are the same dimensions on the F2-6 as they are on the F1, just the wheel opening is larger. F7-8 fenders are wider than the smaller series, and it's possible they could be slightly longer, too, but I'm not aware of any differences in length from the others.

The hood in the above pic looks funny because it's not attached to the hinges and is sitting askew on the fenders. It's forward and to the right of it's normal seated and closed/latched position.

Looks like the right hood. Paint colour and rust are the same. Looks like its not bolted on and is sitting more to the right and maybe not back all the way.

Hoods should all be the same....the hood in that pic is just sitting on the fenders. Not attached. I think it's just an optical illusion....

edit Dang you guys are quick!!!!!!!!

No, Y-blocks don't have the same bellhousing pattern as flatheads, as far as I know.

Note that this truck had (has?) a 6-cyl engine (215), so a later 223 should bolt up.

F6 - 2 ton conventional cab
M - 254 cu in 6 cyl
2 - 1952
SP - Twin Cities (St. Paul) plant
13122 - production number (looks to be late)

Get the sequence stamped into the cowl (should be center and toward the top) and we could tell you the build date and color.

Thank you panel man!
The guy did not want to budge on that f8 I was trying to get. It had no title and did not run and he wanted 2 bills for it?

The F-7/8 and F-5/6 with 176/194" wheelbase fenders are wider, longer and taller.

There is a little filler piece to fill the gap as they use the same inner fenders.

Even the magic air tube has a little extension as well.

The conventional cab F7 F8 trucks and COE F5 F6 trucks have the same front clip (fenders, grilles, lower aprons, etc).
