Looking at some 6.4s

Hey guys I normally reside over in the pre-97 forum but I've been looking to get a 6.4 4x4 sometime in the future. I was just wondering what the best year for that motor. I'm also stuck between a four door short box and an extended cab short box configuration. Thanks in advance, Tye

i think they are all the same. there were some early 08 models, commonly called job1 trucks, that you may want to shy away from. ford made some changes that were suppost to be for the better after that.

job 3 and beyond is what I would recommend. Although the job 1 and 2 should have the updates.

Job 3's were (I think) Jan 2008 and later.

Consult the tech folders for some info on the 6.4. Excellent towing and hwy motor.

I second that! I just purchased my 10 F-250 CC, Short box, and so far, I am very happy with it!

4inch would easily clear 35's/maybe skinny 36's.. IMHO I would just go with the 6'...it's plenty and looks good on the truck.. I went 6' 37's/20's every1 loves it

I don't want to jack it up to much just a little so I can save some mileage. I've searched and searched looking for a picture of one with a 4 In and 35s but I can't find one

ghetto joe is right.. I know a few guys local with 35's with no lift... it's all in what you want.. IMHO I think without the lift it's too much tire...not enough clearance...as far as appearance.. but it's all in what your trying to accomplish
