Good morning all! So my truck won't start. Not a turn over in sight. No sound whatsoever, but all my lights and radio work fine. Is it just to cold? Oil to thick?

I don't have enough experience to know what to tell you. I did plug my rig in last night 'cause I have a meeting in Burlington. It takes a lot of juice to turn a diesel over - that's why there are two batteries. There is a lot of oil in there and a lot of compression. My guess is you might have enough juice in the batteries to run the lights and radio but not enough to turn the beast over. Especially because batteries loose a lot of their power when they are cold.

Hopefully you got it running but if not, sounds more like a bad connection. If you got power to run lights should be enough to get a click from the solenoid. On the passenger fender I believe, the solenoid is mounted. Take a screwdriver or similar cross the big post that has power coming from the battery with the small post, I believe it has the push on connection. If not try the other post. If nothing there try cleaning battery terminals

Thanks Jim. When I put the screwdriver across it what am I looking for? Or do I try and start it?
