3 years and 27k miles later...

Most of you know the story about how i came to get my current 2002 Limited Ex.

For those that dont know, on 10/15/2010 i was involved in a 35mph head on crash that totaled my black 2000 Limited.

My current 2002 Limited was traded into a local used car dealership on the same day my crash was..i think that's fate. it was a clean low mile (102k) limited and i had to have it! on 10/30/2010 i came home with my new baby.

10/30/2013 more miles, a few mods and a few repairs later i'm happy as can be!

I LOVE THIS TRUCK! i have many more plans for her in the future but i think shes made a nice transformation from bone stock

Nice looking truck! Im still looking for the SD running boards.

I agree, something wrong with your fuel gauge. May be an over-voltage thing.

Ah yes, sounds like me and my '05, made for each other, lol!

Congrats Russ! It was sad to see your '00 get banged up the way it did, but a part of it lives on in that lady's truck and a reverse sensor lives on in mine

You ended up with something much better in the long run, congrats again!!!

Thanks guys! i had hoped to have more done to her by now but i'm pretty happy where she is.

Plenty of parts from my old 2000 live on in my 2002. Brake controller, reverse sensor, towing mirrors,antenna/base..few other odds and ends.

it was really sad to see the Black Ex go like it did, but i do know i have a better truck. the black truck had some hidden rust that i could not see until it was wrecked. it gave its life up for a good cause and kept me safe

For the Ex's birthday she got a carwash and filled up, i just changed the oil a few hundred miles ago.

i was making a quick list in my head of repairs in the last 3 years.
spark plugs (10)
coils (10)
battery
brakes
left side exhaust manifold leak (4 broke off had to be drilled)
new fuel pump, trying to make it more accurate but it was a lost cause
VSS

I think thats it? some of those are maintenance items anyhow.

27,000 miles/9mpg = 3000gallons....over $10,000 in fuel bill.

You're destroying the planet...

Looking good Russ, Happy EX Birthday!
I bought mine 3 months before you got your current EX and have put about the same amount of mileage on it.

i love the light bar, thinking about upgrading the lights sometime soon.

My first 2004 Excursion i got in 2009 i put 20k miles on it in a year, bought that black one and put 2k miles on it before it was totaled then bought this 2002 27k miles ago. that doesn't include all my other trucks i rack the miles on....i drive too much!
