I cannot afford the time or money for some of the bigger name builders. I have limited mods and never plan on 500 rwhp on my truck. In order of priority, what would be everyone's opinion of the weakest link in a 2000 model 4wd 4r100? You can read about pumps, Torque converters, valve bodies, line pressure, clutches etc all day long. I have a 32 row 6.0 cooler to install and a stock slipping 4r100. If you were talking to a competent builder, what parts would you put the most importance on?

 

Making sure it does not have the mechanical diode for sure, installing a Transgo shift kit and a multi disk converter.

 

No 2000 model year truck had a mechanical diode. They went into production with the first 2001 model trans.

I don't do mods. I can tell you how the trans works, and usually what's wrong when something breaks. But I don't recommend mods.
