8-foot Drop-In Bedliner Interchange

I'm planning to head to the U-Pull-It soon and one of the items on my list is a drop-in bedliner, if I happen to come across one in decent shape. Thinking ahead, I'm wondering if I need to restrict my search to '87 - '96 Fords, or might other makes and/or earlier/later Fords be good donors as well?

So far the only thing I found in an application guide is this...

Fits 1974 to 1996 Ford F-150 Regular Cab Long Bed

But I know application guides are very strict, and even if the install kit is a little different they'll issue a different part#.

I got a drop in bedliner for free on craigslist from a 67-72 chevy and it fit like a glove in my 88. Check out my build thread for pics

Thanks, but the odds of me coming across a 67-72 Chevy with a bed-liner aren't really good!

Any other data-points out there? What about a '97+ F-series?

I highly doubt those will fit. The beds seemed to get deeper agreed 97.

If it was me, I would write down your trucks inside demensions and go to the junk yard with a tape measure

yep, the fitment will not be good using a later liner. best bet is to wait til you find one of the obs style trucks in there, you will find one eventually. or craigslist.

73-97 Those are the year FORDS you are looking for

The inside of the beds did NOT change in these years. You can actually take a 96 bed and put 73 side right on it(I know, I have done it)

If you find a PENDA liner, they are the ones who made them for Ford and they fit the best(other than the "ford" one).

Another nice one is the YORK Load Lok. It has dividers every 3" so you can put a 2x4 across and hold your cargo in any particular spot. No longer made but you may be able to find a used one

Okay, I'll limit my search to those, else I'll be fighting with something that doesn't quite fit right.

I like that approach. Though it's unlikely I'll come across one, it's something I might be able to replicate as a DIY project.

I forgot to mention, you can also get one from a 73-87 chevy. The bedliner in mine came out of a 67-72, then went in to my 73;87 chevy truck bed trailer I owned at the time, and then in to my 88.
