Does his OLD filter say Fram is what I'm asking.

Both are still available in stores.

Does your filter say Fram?

Josh
Yes, the old filter was a Fram (CHxxxx something or other), the cap was a Motorcraft. I replaced both the filter and the cap with new Motorcraft.

I pulled the filter out again this morning before I left the Lake and there wasn't an adapter in the standpipe. See attached pic.

The truck is 300 miles away from me at our lake place. I didn't know if they had "jacked it up" doing the oil change because of all the forcing they were doing. So I bought one to take over in case it was bad.

When I got to the lake I saw the cap was good and was OEM. But I had the new one and the top of the old one was goobered up. I put the new one on. Old is now a backup.

Interesting...

So the old oil filter did indeed have Fram and the CH9549 on it?

I cant verify for sure it said Fram, but it did have a CHxxxx number on it. 9549 sounds familiar. I am back home, so 300 miles away from the garbage to verify...
