Is this old news?

Just got this in an email for this site about the 6.0. Not sure if this is already known, although knowing this site it probably is.

Not too old

It's not new today but it's fairly new. It's basically the newest part of the whole story. Ford settled the complaints a while back but one of the petitioners appealed based on how much the attorney's were getting. The judge threw that out, which mean petitioners could start filing claims. I think that just opened this month (or within the past few weeks) so this news isn't that dated.

Cool site . I like work trucks

So does anyone know where to find information on who is eligible and/or how to file a claim?

The article tells you what the eligibility requirements are.

You can get a claim form here. Navistar Diesel Engine Products Liability

They sent it to you in the mail last year around this time. (Letter should be dated Nov 2012). It says you may be eligible for a claim if you purchased or leased a 2003-2007 model and had one or more repairs covered under warranty by Ford during it's first 5 years or 100k miles (whichever came first).

The repair items were fuel injector(s), EGR valve, EGR cooler, Oil Cooler and Turbo.

The hearing was set for May 22nd 2013. If the settlement was approved, then qualified owners may file a claim.

Our notice came from the US District Court Northern District of Illinois. It had the following web address and phone number
Navistar Diesel Engine Products Liability
800-600-8555

EGR Cooler $475
Oil Cooler $525
OIl and EGR cooler $825
EGR Valve $200
Turbo $750
1st injector $375
Additional injectors ($125 each)

You may also qualify for up to $200 for deductibles paid while the engine was under warranty.

Good luck.

I meant drilling down specifics... as I have an extended warranty, not the ford warranty, but I fall within the mileage and work scope...

I would assume that because it wasn't covered under the ford initial warranty, I am not eligible... but I'm sure there is fine print somewhere...

Thanks for the info though...
