Wanted, 1957-72 F100 rear axle
Be aware that there are two different 9" rear axles for 1968/72 F100's, both have 11" x 2 1/4" rear brakes.
One has a 9" ring gear, 28 spline axleshafts. T'other has a 9 3/8" ring gear, 31 spline axleshafts and Traction-Lok.
Only FIVE parts are the same 9 vs 9 3/8: Housing gasket, pinion seal, pilot bearing retainer, one pinion bearing and cup.
EVERYTHING else is different!

Man this place is assome!! thanks guys.
Regarding the shipping I have a Friend in Daly City (San Fransisco) that sends a shipping container to sweden once in a while, where I can pt some stuff in. Next container is set in the begining of next year.
So I think "bigwin56F100" the shipping from you to Daly city will be kind of expensive i guess.
Best of all would be if you "51panelman" could find one, and aybe I could pay you to deliver it to Daly City or if my Friend can pick it up.
I would prefere to have the axel with the 1 3/4" breaks as I have a complete set of nearly new brakes for that one. 28 or 31 spline doesn´t matter as I will only hammer about 250 Hp up to 300 Hp if I´am happy.
I assume that the 57-75 F100 rear axel all had the Big ford (old style)ends?
I was planing on letting my friend drop the axel of at some rear axel shop that could put in new bearings, gaskets, a limited slip diff or refurbish the stock one if present, and also look over the ring and pinion gear if necessary.
It will be a lot cheaper to have this done before I ship it than do it over hear, and parts available are better over there.
Any suggestions? around the San Fransisco area?
truckeemtnfords:
I will consider you as a backup plan for now if that´s ok?
Do you know what rear you have (brake vice)
EDIT: Man, I just googled "Truckee" and found out that it´s in San Jose as well (almost), What brakes is it on yours? Do you know if its a 28 or 31? Big ford ends? I assume?, 5 on 5 1/2" bolt pattern? Pictures?
EDIT 2: Sorry the above was Truckee Lane in San jose, now I found you in the east 3 h and 6 min according to Goodle maps so thats probably the right place? But never mind, do you have more info on the axle. Thanks in advance.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
Regardning the different models, are there any benefits (spare parts vice) to choose one over the other? or are part available no matter witch one I go fore?

Are you asking for a 9 inch rear axle? If so, 1957/67 F100 is the same, rear brakes are 11" x 1 3/4."

I'll see if I can contact the guy today that may have a few of them. He's here in San Jose. I work in the Daly City area, but have no way of bringing the rear end there if I find one.
