Head removal question

In the shop pulling the heads. What order should i remove the factory head bolts in? Some say it warps heads by removing them in the wrong order, some say it dont matter. Id rather be safe. Just do them in reverse of head stud install order? Or different sequence?

I'd take them off any way you want Rob. I've removed countless heads off of motors and never once considered what order to remove the bolts. You aren't going to do any harm.

Yup. Doesn't matter what order you remove them in. Believe me, you're not going to warp those heads! Once you lift one, you'll see what I mean.

The torque sequence is more about compressing the head gasket correctly than it is about damaging the heads.

Just my .02 but I believe if you pull a head you should take it to be resurfaced.
Some people don't and never have a issue. But the cost is to cheap compared to the time and aggravation of having to pull it again

Only time I have ever had an issue with torque sequence causing problems was when I was a teenager and and cranked em down starting on one end with a 'luninineeum head on an import.

In all my youthful wisdom I 'fixed' it with copious amounts old brown gasket-goo....

I tend to like to crack em loose from center out, but have not had an issue with heavy heads like your talking about.... but Im still gun-shy ...ish...

Well im taking them to my machine guy to have the valve seals done, as well as cleaning them along with the oil pan, front cover, and a few other odds and ends.
