Need someone with a crew cab and a tape measure
Long story short I may get my fathers 99 f350 (7.3 5 speed crew cab dually) someday and I dream of putting a 70s ford crew cab body and towing bed on it.
My detailed question is this. How close are the cabs width and length wise?
First my original though was to just weld up some cab mounts and thow it on. Of course then I got a little mad scientisty and wondered if it would be better to cut the floor and firewall out of the 99 and slip it under the 70s cab? Then the seats carpet ac system, wiring, steering column, brake booster ect would still be in the factory spot!
This would be a huge undertaking, that Im no where near ready for BUT, Id love to get some measurements to know how possible my idea is.
MEASUREMENTS NEEDED :
Inside rear wall of cab to vertical spot on firewall. And drivers side door jam to passenger's door jam.
Thanks for any help guys, also Id love to know if anyone has done this sort of thing before.
