I have a 96 f250 mostly stock but a cold air intake. What engine can I find ih high output injectors off of? I can get my hands on used engines and was wondering what would have bigger compatable injectors for my 7.3. Looking to up the boost and power of my truck.

 

The only ones that you'll find will be split shots which will be oil hungry

 

Will split shots work? How much do they flow? Do I have to upgrade the hpop?

 

They will but you'll need special tuning to run them.

AB codes 120cc
AD codes 140cc

You could probably get by with the stock hpop with AB if your hpop is in good condition.

Just get you injectors built to stageI's but you'll still need tuning.

 

Pretty sure you'll need to change your PCM too with the split shots.
Stage 1's at rosewood's will run you around $500. That price is for 160 cc budget injectors.
Price can go up depending on the condition of your core injectors.

No need to change the PCM. You'd just need a chip burned to run splits shots

 

Can I just rebuild my injectors to flow more fuel with a kit and add a tuner or chip? Or can I trick my pcm to flow more fuel like a gasser without a chip? I'm on a budget.

Thanks that's what I was looking for. Can I go higher then 10k safely? Will it continue to make a difference or is there a limit? Also off topic here but I have the small spectra air filter (k&n type) that the truck came with. I will go bigger but do you think it is restricting air flow? I'm thinking so.

Most use a napa 6637 air filter. You can get them at riff raff diesel. And i think you will be happier with some stage 1s from rosewood. Also dont forget gauges.

No. 10k mod trucks the PCM to raised ICP to give you a little more pep

 

Holy crap. I added a 17.5k ohm resistor and pulled the pancake pipe off my turbo and dam I got some extra power. I can do burn outs and my truck pulls really hard through first and second gear...than falls on its *** in third. No boost after third and it feels like its missing. Did I over do it with 17k? My fuel is up to 80 maybe 90 psi. The truck is running great until third gear. Any ideas? What would cause power loss only after third. Its an auto trans. I almost want to say it was popping and stumbling.
