F-2 with grill guard

I recently purchased a grill guard from 51PanelMan. 51PanelMan was great to deal with.

Last weekend I took 20 minutes and bolted it onto my truck. I didn't install the braces that go from the guard to the frame since I really want to plan were to put holes in my grill first. I like the way it looks.

From these pictures you can also see that I have more projects than time or space.

Very cool grill guard. Looks good on your truck!

You better be careful leaving the door to the garage up. The Pickers might show up. I'm assuming your 38 is on the left and I see a tractor on the right. Oliver?

Not to be a smart ***, but is it upside down?! The curves and straight part of the headlight surrounds would exactly match the grill if it were flipped. Edit: I guess it can't be, it would sit too low.

I think it could work if you flipped it ! The curves match

On 51/52s there are punch out plugs in the fender filler panels behind the grille that are for the diagonal support rods to pass through. Do the 48-50s not have them? Stu

I like the looks of the guard. Beautiful truck too.
Hey, could you clear out the garage and take some pictures of the coupe and Oliver? We are in John Deere country here. The Oliver's are a nice break. My FIL has a 40 something Minneapolis Moline that he just recently had restored. My son lovers arguing JD vs. MM.
My dad's JD is one of those new fangled 1964 models.

Don't know about the 48-50's but the 53-56's do not have them.

Here's two sets that were handy to show the plugs. I looked at my 50 to see it had similar but it has a custom front blade mount with supporting angle iron that goes through where plugs might have been. Stu

Stu, just took a gander at the '49, and I see no evidence of knock-outs. Might just be a '51-'52 thing.

Didn't know Deere made a tractor, thought the only tractor was Farmall.

Nice guard! Glad it went to a good home. I've only had it for at least five years. Yes, the punch outs were only in the 51-52 models. 48-50 grilles did not have them.

BTW, the FORD emblems on the hood are on the wrong sides. Each emblem should be facing forward, i.e. leaning toward the front. Just switch them side to side.

My 38 coupe is on the left and the tractor on the right is a 1951 Oliver 77. Both could use a restoration. Neither one has left the garage in a number of years. The last time the 38 was outside it was pushed, but I got a picture:

The previous owner flipped the hood side emblems and I haven't switched them back yet. At least he got the strips on correctly.

I love the single tail light that was a feature of the standard model. Nice car. Stu
