1986 f150 not running right

It's a 302 FI motor, starts right up, timing is right but it doesn't like to take the throttle. If I put it to the floor it will either a) not take the throttle at all and bog down or b) will take it until 4000rpms and then spit and sputter and pop and the needle will bounce around. Also when driving it so,stiles it runs decent enough to make it around town while other times I go to take off from a light and it won't take the throttle to move it just bigs down and almost dies. It's a 4 speed with granny gear and when it runs ok it'll accelerate in 2nd up until about 4000 rpms and that's all it has for power until i shift. Once in 4th it does not accelerate whatsoever I'm lucky if it maintains the speed I was going. Applying the gas in 4th makes it bog down. Did a tune up plugs were all black and carboned, cleaned egr, changed map sensor. I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Pull the codes. There is a good possibility the computer may already know what is wrong, or may give a hint to what is wrong. It surveys all the sensors as it's running. You don't need anything but a testlight. Here's a site to tell you how to do it. Fuel Injection Technical Library
