The problem with using standard 30R9 fuel injection hose in the valley of the engine is HEAT. All hose will soften when exposed to high ambient temps.

30R9 hose is rated -29F to 275F with a max operating pressure of 100F

The blue OEM hose is -40F to 302F with a max operating press of 300psi

The higher temp rating along with much higher pressure rating will effect the longevity of the hose in our application.

And yes, use fuel injection hose clamps, not worm-gear clamps.

It can. Age and usage are the main cause. They're getting close to 20 yrs old. Do you notice any tiny oring particles in the fuel bowl along with being black?

The fuel restriction sensor on the back of the fuel bowl is not needed. You can remove it and plug the hole with an 1/8" pipe plug.
