2002 F250 CCLB Build

Tomorrow I pick up my new to me Super Duty. I traded my 2004 F250 XL SCSB 5.4L 6 Speed Mechanical 4x4 w/ 4.10 LS for this beauty... Time to start a new build thread.

2002 F250 Lariat CCLB 5.4L Auto ESOF 4x4 w/ 3.73 open. These are the dealer shots. Better pictures to follow.

It was a single owner vehicle taken in on a trade for a new Super Duty. I checked underneath it and it had only a tiny bit of surface rust... which is unheard of in western PA. So I jumped on it It has 97k on the clock and was Ford maintained its whole life. The leather is in fantastic shape and it is over a very clean truck. It even came with a paint matched fiber glass tonneau. So now, the plans (This will be a very slow process, an engagement ring is priority and the key to being able to go nuts with this toy )...

Engine:
K&N drop in filter (forgot to take mine out of the old truck)
5 Star Tunes
Headers (possibly try fitting long tubes from a Harley F150)
SPD Y-Pipe
Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler (already have it)

Tranny:
Amsoil
New Filter

T-Case:
Amsoil
NV271 Swap

Dana 60:
Warn Premium
Detroit Truetrac (maybe)
Upgraded Diff Cover
Amsoil

Sterling 10.5:
L/S Swap or Detroit Truetrac
Upgraded Diff Cover
Amsoil

Exterior:
Ranch Hand Bumpers
KC Daylighters (Already have 7 of these)
Recon Clear Markers & LED Bulbs
LED Pinch Weld Markers
LED Front and Rear Lower Markers
New Running Boards (Similar to NFAP full legnth)
Under Rail Bed Lights
LED Puddle Lights
LED Mirrors
Diamond Back HD Cover w/ ATV provisions and Headache Rack
05 Headlight Conversion (Have the lights, need the adapter harnesses)
Rugged Liner Fender Well Liners (Part #25099, there was discepancy on websites and they told me that is what fits)

Interior:
Carling Switches
Riff Raff F650 Auto Dash Kit
Oil Pressure, Oil & Tranny Temp, and Vacuum Gauges
Exterior Paint Match on Dash and Door Trim
Pioneer Head Unit (I have one to put in, probably going to upgrade to a Nav unit later)
Pioneer Speakers

Suspension:
Energy Sway Bar Bushings (Already have them)
Eventually a lift... last on the list for now. The truck rides really nice for now.

I am very happy not to be dealing with all the rust the last truck had. The truck is going back next Thursday for the Ziebart Gold Package. Its getting leather treatment of some sort, Diamond Gloss on the paint, and rust proofing and sound deadening undercoat.

I'll post photos after it comes home tomorrow

Thanks! Ya. It wasn't on there when I went to look at it. I'm not really sure what the deal was with that. They had all the info on it, not really sure how someone missed the memo for the photos.

Do you have any pics of the dash?

Here you go, I didn't go through Riffraff cause they didn't have any at the time, plus I like these switches a little better cause I could make them to my likings. In the spot where the air brake would have been, I plan on putting two more gauges there.

Looks good. Plans look good as well. I would skip the K&N and just do a zoodad mod if its not for offroad. It appears to have husky liners too. They are awesome. You may invest in the transmission hump liner as well later.

I thought I liked switches. Wow! Did you get all of those from OTRATTW? Can you list what all of them do?

Thanks!

It will need to do a little offroad. I am not going to do the full intake, only the drop in filter like my old truck had. I have had good experiences with them and I love having something serviceable instead of replaceable. I realize the truck gets more than adequate air flow.

I was thinking about the weather tech mats. I am not planning on having anyone in that middle seat, that's my arm room.

Scotttahoe do those switches get custom engraved or do you have to find ones with the decal and lettering you want? Those are pretty sweet!

Thanks! It will have a lot of similarities because its the style I like. It won't ever be as rugged as the example picture I posted in the old build thread. I want to to be very capable, but I don't want to suffer quality or comfort for it. It won't see much offroad use (due to the wheel base and the tight trails around here) and hopefully not a ton of road salt use (that's what the Ranger is for), but I want it to be able to perform in those environments if needed.

Thanks!

Just got back from picking her up I'll miss the silver one, but I love the blue one! It rides so much better.

smart man...if only i could do the same lol. I would POR and rust proof still because even sitting it will still rust. My coworker has a 99 F150 with 40k on it, it was just a truck that some guy occasionally towed and used to plow his drive way so it just sat mostly. Man does it have some rust underneath not so much on the body but shackles, shock mounts etc.

Yup. Its going next Thursday for that Ziebart. I wish I had a garage big enough for it, but I just don't. My garage is 25ft deep and the truck is 22 ft long. The only bad part is I'd loose my head going through the door.

So two things I immediately noticed.

One: Driver's front hub dial is very hard to turn, looks like it has a little dent in it holding the dial. I will address this very soon. The truck doesn't have the vacuum front hubs, it has the stock "Free/Lock" hubs. Is this unusual for ESOF?

Two: Tonneau latch doesn't work properly. That irritates me. I may look at that tonight. At least I can sit under the tonneau to stay dry.
