Factory security bulb

On my 2006 f250 6.0, the security lamp doesn't blink. It's just the basic setup, unlock/ lock/ panic button. My focus has the same light, no keyless entry and it blinks. How do I fix it?

Thanks in advanced.

My 05 doesn't blink either. Don't think it's supposed to on these trucks.

That is weird. I have a stock, basic ford focus, the same exact thing blinks. It blinks while the car is off, looks like a fake car alarm light. I was hoping it would do the same. Thanks for the reply, you might be right.

don't worry when I bought my truck in 04 I went to 6 dealerships and nobody could tell me what it was , go figure, a part from a 25k F150 with a security system and you buy a 40k + truck and it doesn't have have a coded key for our steeds. I suppose you could geta wire diagram and hook up a security system to use the light.

Yeah that's weird. My cheap *** focus, no options, has the special key and the light blinks. My truck is worth 3 times as much and it doesn't have this feature. Lol

So in have looked at some wiring diagrams, and it doesn't show anything about the security bulb /lamp. I also have a 2006 ford freestar van, guess what... Same keyless entry and same key (no chip). I don't want to take the van apart to. Some has to know, or have a diagram? No it's a matter of pride, I will find out...

I know that there are some free ones out there but I don't have a link for them.

So ford says it should be blinking when it is shut off. Trying to get me to come in, so they can look at it. I am just going to have to tear into the thing. Anyone know volts or what I should hook it up to, fuse, or bulb replacement?

The Super Duty trucks did not get the PATS till later than most of the other Fords.
I Think the first year for PATS was 2008 for the Super Duty. I can tell you that
it was not there as of 2006

So you don't have it.

Uhm. The little black bubble on my dash is the sensor for the automatic headlights. Not a security feature?

So is there an alarm system at all on our trucks or simply remote locks? I got the idea somewhere (shortly after I got my truck) that the first button push set the locks and the second quick press -with the horn toot- set the alarm. Is that bad info?

The excursions have the pats keys, and the theft light works. I guess the money ford spent on pats, they saved on the weak springs they gave us.

No alarm, even on the ex. the horn beeps just to confirm it is locked.
Use you key to unlock door, open it, no alarm goes off..
