Dieselsite Coolant filter kit out of stock!

The Dieselsite coolant filter is out of stock, of course this happens just when I finally have enough money to buy one. Is there any alternatives to the dieselsite kit that anyone has used and been happy with? I would like to get this done within the next week or two before it starts getting much cooler.

The list just never ends! As always thanks guys!

Get an IH water pump. Has the filter base built in.

the only somewhat tricky part is finding a place to mount the base.

I put mine right behind the coolant bottle by making a little adapter bracket and drilling 2 holes in the bottle stand. just make sure the hood hinge wont hit it when closed. I've seen someone else scoot the windshield washer bottle over to make more room.

some guys mount to the side of the radiator, but that looked a little tight to me.

if you've already done efuel, there's be plenty of room in the valley...

a bit of searching on here should yield some good pics of a bunch of different setups.

good luck!

No efuel yet, although after this last bout with the fuel bowl and regulator, it looked very appealing. I think I'll do the firewall mount if I can, or on the right side of the engine bay somewhere, there seems to be considerably more room there.

The best part is I'll get the parts delivered right to my shop in the morning, and also doing it this way will save $$$!

And Richard I have seen that water pump! That is an awesome set up! The water pump on mine was just done not to terribly long ago and its good yet, maybe when this one goes I'll get that.

Thanks again everyone!

Also whats the best place to tap in to the system? I know about the one on the water pump. I'll have to ask Alex how he has his set up, thats kinda what I'm going off of. But I can't remember where he has his hoses routed.

the heater lines work well.

buy these parts from McMaster and you can do the 'ice-cold AC mod' at the same time:

5346K65 Brass Barbed Hose Fitting, Adapter For 5/8" Hose Id X 3/8" Nptf Male Pipe
9151K43 Nickel-plated Brass Threaded Pipe Fitting, 3/8" Pipe Size, Tee
4912K98 Miniature Chrome-plated Brass Ball Valve, Screwdriver Handle, 3/8" Npt Female X Male Conn

build a T that contains the shutoff valve on the heater-core-side of the hose coming out of the water pump (to the heater core), then you can completely direct the flow away from the heater core and into the filter in the summertime. open it up in the winter and you get heat plus some filtering.

I can take some pictures of my setup if you're interested...

one pack of these (though you only need 2): Anderson Metals Corp 53724-10 Nylon Hose Barb Tee - 5/8" (Pack of 5) - Amazon.com

some 5/8" coolant hose from the auto parts store
8 ~1" hose clamps

on those wix filters (24070)or napa filters (4070) if you change the last number you get SCA pre loaded in the filter ie 24071 has 4 units of sca, 24072 has 6 units of sca, 24073 has 8 units of sca. so when you get ready to change your filter test your coolant and determine how many units of sca you need and get the filter with the correct amount.
