Marker Running Lights not working after accidental short to ground
I installed an aluminum flatbed on m 2004 F250 5.4 and when I was wiring the lights, I accidentally shorted the marker/running lights to ground. The fuse is not blown (17), the dash lights come on. I have checked for power to the other lamps and there is nothing. I am looking for any information or help that would lead where to look for the cause. Thank you in advance

Thanks for the reply, would that cause all my marker lights to not work? I actually disconnected the harness that runs from the rear of the truck to the connector block up in front of the firewall on the fender and still no markers on the cab. When I say markers on the cab I mean the ones in the front headlight assembly. That is all I have on this truck. They were working mint as I attempted to hook the flatbed marker wiring up and then they went out when I hooked them into my harness on the bed because I made a mistake and ran a wire to ground that was supposed to go to a bed marker. Dumb move I know, now I have nothing and a good fuse.

Are you sure the fuse is good, I've seen these where they look ok but when tested have tested bad. Are you sure you've checked all the potential fuses inside the truck and under the hood ? You can find a guide to these in your owners manual, if you don't have an owners manual you can find one here. https://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conte...e&ord=38089754

Madsonp, I have tested the fuse, I actually tested ALL the fuses because I have been scratching my head on this for a good 12 hours. I wanted to exhaust all my ideas before posting because I am sorta embarrassed for what I did with the ground. The only fusebox I know of and that my owners manual tells me of is the one under the dash by my left leg, driver side. My book says 17 is the one but again, I checked them all. I was wondering if there is a fusable link I do not know of. I even went and looked behind the fusebox for burnt wires. I am at wits end...

Yep, looks like the 04 doesn't have the additional fuse box under the hood like many others do. Well, I got to admit I'm running out of ideas, I wouldn't think it would be one of the relay's either. I also wouldn't think there'd be a fuseable link, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else with a 2004 will be able to give you more info.
