I am in the Lincoln county area of GA, but currently stationed in WA. I go back home every Christmas and will be home this Christmas. , about 30 minutes from Augusta. And ok on the winch. I have heard good things about Warn, but I don't want to buy something thats gonna wear out or break the first season I need to use it. Any brands you guys suggest? You all seem to know your way around this stuff pretty good.

Funny, my mom grew up in Lincoln County. That's about two hours from me in Warner Robins.

Warn is best known name in the aftermarket truck business. I'd suggest one of their 15-16.5k winches for a SD (absolutely no smaller than 12k ) and a bumper or brush guard rated for the size winch you buy. Do not listen to any idiot who suggests a receiver tube mount for a winch that size.

I can see it now, Receiver hitch fails decapitating so and so.....

Like A/O said warn and a Nice mount at minimum for it. and i know the response most people give is why do i need a 12-15k# winch for a 8k pound truck, think thats 8k# stuck in the mud with suction. Id want to have the ability to pull atleast 1.5x's what my truck weighs. its not like the truck is just gonna free roll outta the mud. in other words id go with a 16k# winch.
